Camping Var » What to do in Paca

Take the time to discover the PACA region

The Gorges du Verdon

The Verdon regional nature park is considered to be the most beautiful canyon in Europe, and owes its name to the emerald colour of its rivers and lakes.

It can be discovered in a thousand and one ways, whether by canoe, pedalo, rafting, canyoning, cycling or even on foot, it will enchant you.

The Gorges du Verdon are about 100 km from the campsite Port Pothuau in Hyères (1h30 to 2h00 drive). We advise you to spend the day there by reserving a pedal boat or canoes and preparing a picnic to share on the banks of the artificial Lake of Sainte-Croix.

To be discovered:

  • About forty typical villages (Moustier St Marie, Quinson, Sainte-Croix du Verdon…)
  • 5 sumptuous lakes including the Lac de Sainte-Croix
  • Sports activities: Canoeing, pedal-boating, climbing, hiking, walking, mountain biking…

The Calanques of Cassis

Discover the sumptuous Calanques de Cassis National Park! This site, unique in the world, offers breathtaking landscapes and allows nature lovers to enjoy various land and sea activities: on foot, by canoe or by boat!

The Calanques are among the most remarkable natural sites in France. Some areas are dedicated to restocking the waters and are therefore closed to fishing to serve as natural nurseries.

The countless fossils embedded in the limestone bear witness to a history that began several hundred million years ago. The Cosquer cave, located in the massif under the water, bears witness to the length of time the site has been occupied by man.

You can visit the Calanques by boat with a guide from the Port Vieux in La Ciotat. Reservations are recommended.

The Domaine du Rayol

Designed by Gilles CLÉMENT, the Mediterranean garden is an invitation to travel through landscapes of the world (South Africa, Australia, California, Chile, Mediterranean Basin) and landscapes with a more arid climate (Mexico, Canary Islands, Asia, New Zealand, subtropical America).

This small piece of land of 20 ha is an extract of our planet which concentrates and highlights with strength and beauty the interactions of man and nature…

There are guided and self-guided tours, exhibitions, workshops and training courses on gardening and medicinal plants. There are activities for families with children: nursery, specialist bookshop, gardeners’ café, etc.
