visit villa noailles

Villa Noailles

The commission was “a small, interesting house to live in”, in Hyères in the South of France. This was a challenge for the young architect Robert Mallet-Stevens, who responded to the request of Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles, a wealthy Parisian couple with avant-garde ideas.

Work began in 1923, in the small town of Hyères, the construction site must have been surprising, and even today, the villa stands out for the modernity of its architecture, a real play of cubes and light.

Today, the Villa Noailles keeps this spirit of creativity and innovation alive through the International Fashion and Photography Festival which takes place in April, the Design Parade (a design festival in July) and numerous exhibitions on architecture and photography throughout the year…
